Baby University is a series of practical workshops offering parents and grandparents the opportunity to learn new techniques, discover various options for handling common everyday parenting problems, and household management issues. It is designed for parents or care givers of infants and toddlers up to and including 4 years of age.
The nature of the program allows us to connect the families with many educational and family oriented services and programs. These connections further enrich the parenting capacities of the adult participants and increased learning opportunities for the children.
This program also opened the opportunity for pre-school to be offered at no cost to children of lower socio-economic status. Preschool prepares them for entry into the main stream educational system ready to learn and equipped with the basics needed for kindergarten.
Baby Univerity Classes usually are on Thursdays from 9-11 and run for 9 weeks. Call the KUO office (765.457.1983) to find out when the next class will begin.
Stacie Gollner the director of KUO's Baby University. She is also the director of ParentUP. ParentUP will connect parents with older children, to resources that will help you understand their children and become more confident parents.
ParentUP is a forum where parents can learn and talk about issues related to raising children---discipline, school, gangs, bullying, drugs along with other topics. It will be a place to share experiences, make new friends and to have fun.
ParentUp meets the second Wednesday of each month at 1:30 PM at Garden Square Community Center. Call Stacie at 765.457.1983 for more information
